High-resolution digital imaging makes it easier and faster to detect issues like decay, cysts, abscesses, and bone loss around your teeth. Digital images are also safer and more portable, making them better for our patients. We frequently incorporate digital X-rays into routine exams to ensure issues are addressed while they are smaller and more conservative to treat.
A healthy smile is dependent on routine dental examinations and preventative cleanings. During your visit we will examine your smile, including your gums, teeth, bone, existing restorations and the surrounding oral structures. Dr. Storch can then intervene if there are any concerns, before major problems develop.
At your preventative-care visit, a professional cleaning will be performed, including a gentle polish to remove any surface stains. Six-month checkups are usually recommended for most people who have healthy teeth and gum tissues.
Sealants protect your child’s back teeth by covering their chewing surfaces with a protective barrier. Sealants can be applied at most checkups without the need for numbing. It takes only a few minutes to complete the entire process. Sealants make it easier to clean these hard-to-clean areas and reduce the risk of new cavities. The best part is that most dental insurance companies will cover the cost of sealants in children up to 14. However, they are quite affordable for those who may not have insurance coverage.

Early intervention is the best way to ensure the best possible outcome. Dr. Storch will notify you if there are any abnormal tissues that should be monitored or biopsied.

Periodontal therapy is recommended for those exhibiting severe tartar buildup or bone loss. These therapeutic cleanings reach deep below the gum tissues and remove any buildup that can't be reached by brushing or flossing.
